C-Otter (2026-2027 Sci Oly Div C)

The C-Otter is an all-wood model designed to fit inside the 2026-2027 box rule.  It’s 36.5 CM wingspan lets it rest across the diagonal of the base of a suitable box (such a copier paper box). Don’t be afraid of those curved spars!  There’s no carbon fiber or film-type covering, so it’s beginner friendly.  The laser cutting and simple construction techniques make the C-Otter a quick build.  It comes with all required wood, HDPE covering material, a high quality preassembled propeller set, and a photo-illustrated instruction booklet that covers building and flight trim.  The model ships with .07″ rubber, but if you’re a good winder, you may be able to drop down a size to out-of-the-box 1/16″ (.063″) for even longer flights.  It’s a blast to fly, and the Czech 6″ molded prop is a very nice match to the airframe.  I hate to say any model is immediately well trimmed, but every prototype has flown very nicely from the start.  Indoor free flighters–this model is pretty enough that you might try one!  It gets lots of attention at flying sessions.
